Privacy
Short version. Nothing you send is published. No photo or video ever reaches us, only a fingerprint of it. Only the person holding your report link can read the report, and you can delete the whole thing yourself in one click.
What we collect
- What you type into the form: the plate or what you saw of it, the vehicles, the place, the date and time, the injuries and your account of what happened.
- Your name, email address and, if you give it, your phone number.
- For each file you pick: its name, its size, its type and a SHA-256 fingerprint your own browser works out. The file itself is never sent to us and we have no copy of it.
- The link to an online copy, if you paste one. We store the address, not what is behind it, and we do not open it.
- A one way hash of your IP address, so one person cannot file fifty reports in an hour. The address itself is never written down.
Why we collect it
To build the complaint, the certificate for your video, the compensation claim and the reminders. That is a legal claim of yours, which is the ground we rely on under section 17(1)(a) of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023.
Who can see it
- You, through your report link.
- Us, if you write to us about a problem with your report.
- The police, a Claims Enquiry Officer or a court, only if you hand them the packet yourself. We do not send anything to anyone.
- Nobody else. There is no public page for a report, no list of plates and no search.
Our hosting and email suppliers process the data on our instructions: Cloudflare for the site and the database, and Resend for email. Analytics runs through our own domain, stores no cookie and is told to drop your IP address and the page address.
How long we keep it
The report stays until you delete it, because a compensation claim can run for months. There is no file retention period to quote, because we never held the files. Counts of reports, FIRs and claims stay forever, but they are counts. They carry no plate, no name and no location beyond the state.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or delete it. The delete button on your report page does all of it at once and takes effect immediately. For anything else, write to the grievance officer.
